  Incompetence or deliberate theft??? "The worst title company you will ever find." That's not only my opinion, but the opinion expressed to me by my realtor as well as the buyer's realtor. There were plenty of mistakes on closing documents on the buyers and sellers side. First of all, they brought the wrong deed to the closing table. The deed that they brought was for the previous owners before me and didn't have my name anywhere on it. Okay simple mistake. I didn't make too much of a big deal. Next, they tried to charge me an extra $1000 for closing costs that I had already paid. We had to spend extra 20 minutes to straighten that out. Lastly, they did not accurately check my escrow balance and tried to keep more than $5000 from me. When I showed them proof from the real estate tax collector that I had paid my taxes more than 2 months ago, they still did not return my money immediately. The most unbelievable part is that they claimed to require the buyer's approval to return my $5000 of escrow overpayment. Both realtors found it ludicrous and luckily the buyer's realtor helped me obtain approval to get my money back. If I did not call the real estate tax office, New Horizon would have $5000 of funds money that did not belong to them. Isn't one of the main purpose of a title company existence to accurately check escrow and ensure both parties pay the correct amount of closing costs??? I recommend never using this company. I'm not sure if it's incompetence or deliberate theft, but I'm wondering if they do this to many of their unsuspecting clients??? Please comment if you have had this experience because even though I caught it I'm sure there are many who may not check their escrow balance at time of closing.

  We used New Horizon Abstract for a complex real estate transaction. Throughout the process, they kept us informed about the closing which made for a smooth closing. The staff were great to work with. Special thanks to Erica, Michael and Alexi for all their hard work. I highly recommend them.
